I thought I would kick my new blog off with a Friday prayer!

Dear Lord,

The world can seem like a very scary place sometimes. Why do bad things happen to good people? I’ve been thinking about this, in awe of what some people have to carry. I ask that you lessen the burden of those who have had to carry a lot this week. Please make it so this oncoming weekend can be one of peace and hope for them. I ask that you continue to bless people as we enter the holidays–a time that can be difficult for many. Please continue to love those who do not yet know how to love themselves, care for those who are struggling, and unburden those who have been forced to carry a heavier load. Now is the time I ask that they can put it down. As we sit one month away from the new year, I ask that this new year be a positive and full one for those who have suffered less. I ask for those who have more to give, that they continue to be of service when and where they can be.

Lord, let this weekend be a healing one. Place your healing hands on all those who need it.
